Museum Brand Identity

Brief

Choose one of the museums from the list below as the subject for your project. These are all real institutions which currently have an outdated or ineffective branding scheme. Our task is to create a new brand which is contemporary, appealing and would communicate with a wider audience.

Brand Identity

The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi explores the evolution of science fiction, highlighting the enduring impact of classic works on the industry and its lasting influence on peoples imaginations.
This new brand identity must convey their love for science fiction and help bring a wider  audience, merch would also be popular due to the genres popularity in clothing.

Renaming
After researching other museums they all have similar wording in how they are named, therefore I had the idea to rename the museum to 'Nexus Point' to help it stand out and bring personal identity to the brand.
The term 'nexus' is a connection or link between things, persons, or events. It is often used in media, such as the Marvel Nexus Events.

Mission Statement
The Nexus Point Sci-Fi Museum celebrates the interconnectedness of science fiction, showcasing how its themes, technologies, and visions have influenced each other and continue to resonate across generations.

Colour Palette
After looking through the museums current website, social media and exhibitions, I found the most comon colours and added some new ones to come up with this colour palette. This is what I will be using in my design ideas and new marketing strategies.
The names of the colours also have a connection to the brand and sci-fi themes -
Night, Space Cadet, Tekhelet(sky), Celestial Blue and Imperial Red

Brand Pattern

Picture
So far I haven't been loving the pattern I made for this brand, so I decided to go back to my original ideas and develop something else. I decided to go with this gradient of stars, this is because it reflects the brand main theme of the gradient and it is more of a sci fi vibe - relating to old games such as space invaders.

Random Idea

I found these sci-fi vibe images and wanted to try use them for my museum branding, however they do not match what I currently have and after involving them in mockups I decided not to include them.

Tickets

After researching museum ticket designs, most of them have a tearable barcode on the side. I decided to use the star mark I have and turn it into the tearable dots for the ticket.

Website

Idea One
Idea Two
I went back and used the gradient from my ticket designs and assets from my posters to combine them into this website. I believe this option is more cohesive to the brand and fits in better.
