Dessert Hot sauces

Updated

In response to receiving feedback from Hotfoot I will be making changes to my previous design. Their main points were -
  1. Character Design - 'Slightly cheekier, more innocent look - perhaps a smile combined with subtle nods to devilishness, like a tail. Make it more appealing to a younger audience'
  2. Vintage Aesthetic - 'Vintage labels you referenced work so well because of their simplicity. Given the limitations of old printing techniques, clever use of block colours and halftones was common. Simplifying your colour palette to a more pastel, dessert-inspired vibe—perhaps with a single hero colour per bottle—could enhance this style. Adding halftone shadows might also strengthen the look'
  3. Typography - 'Consider introducing a secondary font to complement your logo font. If you stick with the same font for headings, ensure the kerning is consistent throughout the design for a polished finish'

Using InDesign, I have changed my mascot into a retro stamp logo for the brand. This not only simplified the characters design, from my feedback, but also reduces the colour palette to one colour. This stamp is now versitile to be used in different ways and sizes. I made sure the text and image was legible from small to big - I printed them out and made changes I saw as necessary.
